So since I'm Eastern European my PSX is fully modded for all the piracy goodness and I'm looking into the ROMs right now, problem is there's too much shit. So first of all it's three regions Japan, US and EU. Can't speak Japanese for shit so that about narrows it down. As far as regions go, which one is better? I heard there was some censoring done, the more gore the better, I like my violence in video games. Aside from that, I assume as far as RE1 goes Director's Cut is the way to go.

Psx

RE2 has 2 discs, on EU versions it says CD1 Leon CD2 Claire. US version doesn't name the characters only CD 1 and 2. Back in the day I had some hacked Russian version with both characters on the same disc, so as far as the whole CD1-2 goes is there any difference aside from the character you play and do I need both to see the whole story?

Also what's the difference between simple and Dual Shock version? If it's something to do with the controller I don't have a controller with joysticks, I have the shitty one.

Same with RE3, there's EU and US. Where them bloods at? Also this is the place I'm looking for roms: the list is a bit long but just CTRL+F that shit and you'll see the whole list of RE games. I'm two weeks late in responding to your thread, but I would seriously suggest playing Disc 2 (Claire) and then going NewGame+ with Disc 1 (Leon): • It has a more involved story, despite it generally being the same, • It has more interaction between certain characters, which otherwise don't happen at all in the other story, and • It is more canon than playing the other way around, considering some stuff that is mentioned in RE6.

The reason why this version of the story is 'better' is because Disc 1 -> 2 was their first crack at writing the RE2 story. Disc 2 -> 1 gave them a chance to think about what else they could do or to add to the story, while trying to keep it 'mostly' the same.

Are you serious? I always find it amusing when teenagers or just barely adults start calling people 'kids' on the internet just because they don't agree with them. You do realize that no self-respecting adult would just throw a fit and start calling strangers kids with no context?

I had a PS1, so yeah, I do have nostalgic memories of the games. Why the hell should I need to plug in an ancient console that looks even shittier on a HDTV when I could just buy the games on the PS Store or emulate them?

Resident Evil 2, known in Japan as Biohazard 2, [b] is a survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom and released for the PlayStation in 1998. The player controls Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who must escape Raccoon City after its citizens are transformed into zombies by a biological weapon two months after the events of the original Resident Evil. The gameplay focuses on exploration, puzzles, and combat; the main difference from its predecessor are the branching paths, with each player character having unique storylines and obstacles. Resident Evil 2 was directed by Hideki Kamiya, produced by Shinji Mikami — director of the first Resident Evil — and developed by a team of 40–50 over 21 months. The initial version of the game, commonly referred to as Resident Evil 1.5, differed drastically and was canceled when it was around 70% complete after Mikami decided it was inadequate. The final design introduced settings and a more cinematic presentation.
