On a clean Win10 installation, without having GoPro Studio installed nor any third party codec pack, I've just tried to import two Cineform files, one in AVI the other in MOV container, both created with GoPro Studio. Both files are recognized as sound only. The existance of Cineform.lwd** made me think Lightworks comes with its own Cineform decoder, but that assumption seems to be wrong. On my main system I have installed different Cineform encoders/decoders so I don't know which one is used by Lightworks. Does anybody know exactly which codec is used for decoding cineform.AVI and for cineform.MOV.

Please log in or register to see it. After installing the Windows decoder from GoPro page above (together with requested.NET 3.5) Lightworks crashes when trying to import Cineform AVI/MOV. Open pnach file. Prior to installing the codec files had been importabe as sound only, now they aren't analyzed and Lightworks crahes when trying to import.
Additional findings related to the codec from above. MPC doesn't recognise the codec VLC doesn't recognize the codec WMP recognizes only the AVI file All this doesn't change after installing most recent QuickTime. After the first tests failed, I reinstalled Lightworks and crosschecked existance of “CFHDDecoder64.dll” and “CFHDEncoder64.dll”, I see in error.log under VfwCodecs' (CFHD) using CFHD.dll'. Everything’s in place, still no success. What a mystery.
