It was brutal. Completely unfinished and crazy buggy. We would call support and get answers like 'well that's weird' or 'it's not supposed to do that'. Constant crashes, problems with editing data, problems with processing data. We tried to process jobs in that software for months before giving up and going back to Carlson. We even went as far as selling our CS20's and getting Carlson Collectors. Captivate can export rw5 and fbk files but again it's buggy.

Observations are often missing with only a coordinate value for the point left in the raw data. We used/tried to use Leica data collection and processing for a few years total but it was costing us way more hassle and money than it was worth.

I don't see much reason to spend the money on Leica gear or software. They are owned by Hexagon as is Geomax. Geomax's high end line of total stations are the same thing as the TS15 just a different color and significantly cheaper. For processing basic data nothing beats Carlson Survey and for more advanced adjustments we use Star*Net. Infinity is scalable to fit a users needs, meaning if you only needed TPS data processing, you can purchase Infinity with that license unlocked only. They also have bundles available that include TPS & GNSS processing.
