Anyone get this to work. I just wasted a Verbatim disc that I burned the.iso 7.59 gig file to. The NAV system stated unable to read disc please check map file.

2013 GM North America Map Update 2281-70V736 10.4. More details Tweet Share Google+ Pinterest Print $39.99. Get accurate directions to wherever you travel including new roads, new sub-divisions, and current addresses. This navigation map update is a replacement for the following GM part numbers.

Downloaded the files to a folder. Then used clicked on the first file using the 7zip program and extracted it to a desktop folder.

Then used image burn to burn the DVD+R DL disc at 4x speed. Went through the burn process and verifying process and the disc doesn't work. The one thing that the image burn did say was the file was a image file and wanted to know if I still wanted to burn. The it stated that it was too large of a file to burn to DVD and that I had to go to advanced settings to allow for excess data to work Anyone that has done this with these file get them to work or at least know what Im doing wrong. I dont want to waste the other 4 discs I have left. The discs are also 8.5gig storage if that makes a difference or not Update: so I tried one more time. I double clicked on the first out of 5 nav files downloaded like meltdown said to combine the files.

Then I extracted that one file to the desktop folder. Now when the burner program came up last time it said do you want to manually write the file or not. Last time I clicked yes for continue to burn. This time I clicked 'no'manually write.

It worked and updated the system. Here is the catch you have to leave this disc in for the nav to show the updates. I tried the old (2007) disc and I was in a field. Back to new disc and I was on a road. Only bad thing about the new disc is that it takes a minute longer to load vs the GM copy.

There are a few changes, not much. It now can find my house which it didnt do with my 08 Disc. Not sure why. A couple tips for burning; 1: Use Imgburn. Its free and works well 2:Shut down as many processes before burning possible, even your antivirus (scan the file first to make sure its clean, it is, I assure you, but you dont need an antivirus scan or anything popping up while you are burning or you WILL have a new 'coaster' to set your beer on. DL Discs are expensive. 3:BURN IT SLOW.

I know your new computer has that fast burner, but do yourself a favor and bring it down to at LEAST 6X or slower or it wont work. Slowest is best. 4: Be prepared to burn this a couple times, its flakey. Some guys get it on the first try, others have to try it several times to get it to work. DONT DO ANYTHING ON YOUR COMPUTER WHILE BURNING!! Dont surf the web, dont look at porn, NOTHING!! WALK AWAY FROM IT, READ A BOOK, anything that can interrupt this can and will ruin the disc so the least amount of things running is best.

Make sure your screen saver is off! If the screen saver comes on while burning, you will probably have a coaster. Hit the rep button and ill rep you back.

(I like lotsa green beans) Good luck with it and PM me if you have an issue and ill try to help. If you have a 'Computer center' or any type of store that sells computers SPECIFICALLY go there first. We have a store here called 'Microcenter' (You may have something similar close to you). They sell Verbatim discs the cheapest I have found. Many times when you go in the store, they are even cheaper than on their website. Best Buy is the most expensive I have seen for these discs IF they even carry them. I think best buy was $50 for 25 discs($2 per disc) and Microcenter was $39.95 for 50 discs($.80 per disc).

I use to burn Xbox games and needed Verbatim also. I'm pretty certain that the problem lies with my burner.

I have a HP dv7 laptop with a Hitachi burner in it. Using ImgBurn, I can't change the book type. All I can do is go into the 'tools, settings' and change it to 'Auto 'Change Book Type' '. But I don't think that is actually changing it to DVD-ROM. When I look at the burned disc afterwards, ImgBurn shows it as DVD-ROM, but everything else (Nero, Windows burner program, etc) show it still as a DVD-R. I am getting frustrated with making coasters. I've already spent well over what Erik was asking for the discs with absolutely nothing but mini-frisbees to show for it.
