Beretta Shotgun Serial Numbers Manufacture Dates Of Amana
To find the year of proof of your Beretta Shotgun you'll need to find the Date Code. This will either be Roman Numerals for earlier guns or two letters for later. Way down below there's a forum 'Beretta' Beretta lovers only, see Date of Manufacture of Italian Shotguns 'sticky' posted by Seamus & Worc. Beretta's info states for example, 'AO' for 1986. That's incorrect, it's actually 'AP'. And 'CC' is the proof code for 2008. I've got a Urika 2 - 20 ga. With a code 'CD'.
Guys, I need some help. I have a Beretta 92S Italian Police buy-back that DOES NOT have the date code stamp (so please do not start flaming me with the date code conversions - I have all of that). It has a single line roll mark (as opposed to the more customary 2 line roll mark) on the right side of the slide stating 'P.B. - MOD.92S - MADE in ITALY - PATENTED'. The serial number is U10xxxZ. I understand that the U might signify a police contract and that the Z might indicate a pre-1985 manufacture date.
Does anyone have a reference for serial number blocks sold on specific contracts, or any other detail that might narrow down the date this gun was manufactured? And no, it is not listed in Beretta's domestic database.
